Gender Differentiate in Nutritional Status among Bangladeshi Adults

Nutritional status based on BMI is also related to demographic, economic, social and environmental conditions of the population. Bangladesh, a low income country, have experienced in malnutrition. The household wealth quintile and women education level have been increasing during the last two decades. It is assumed that the number of over nourished individual in Bangladesh has been increasing, and the male-female differentiate in nutritional status become somewhat minimized. Over weight has been shown to be a risk factor for hypertension, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, gall bladder disease and various types of cancer. On the other hand, underweight has been associated with a higher risk of hip fracture in women.
